Director-producer Tyler Perry caught up with gossip columnist Cindy Adams and did something he rarely does – give the public a glimpse into his romantic life. While Perry continues to rake in money hand over fist with his plays and films, the absence of a woman on his arm is apparent and it’s no secret his sexuality has been called into question.

Taylar Nuevelle took the stand on Friday (January 29) in her own defense against the charges of unlawful entry, burglary and stalking of former lover and D.C. Superior Court Magistrate Judge Janet Albert (pictured above, left). Nuevelle (pictured above, right) says she tried to take her own life when judge Albert threatened to make sure Nuevelle would never see her child again. Nuevelle is in an ongoing custody dispute with her ex-husband and according to Nuevelle, Albert threatened to contact her ex-husband.

After Nelly was spotted around town with the likes of Melyssa Ford and some mystery lady friend, speculation started to brew that things were not right with Nelly and longtime girlfriend Ashanti.  Well, The New York Daily News has confirmed the couple has definitely called it quits.

What makes this news surprising is that just this past March, Ashanti stated marriage was “absolutely in the cards.”  I guess Nelly was playing with a different deck.  According to the NYDN, Nelly and Ashanti’s 4 year romance came to end because Nelly wasn’t ready to settle down.

Too bad.  They really made a cute couple.

Do Something, a non-profit that encourages a generation to, well, do something, created a video reenactment of the alleged Chris Brown attack on singer Rihanna as a stand against teen relationship abuse. I guess reading the police report wasn’t unsettling and graphic enough for folk, I know it was for me.
