Steven Apilado, Jon Russ and LaRon Charles, three members of the now defunct D2 softball team, are suing the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance over discrimination based on their sexual preference.
It all stems from an incident that took place following the Gay Softball World Series. Their team, which is part of the San Francisco Gay Softball League, ultimately took home second place in the championship game after winning to the Atlanta Mudcats in the semi-finals. Disgruntled over the loss, the Mudcats complained to Alliance officials that the team had too many straights.
