The sun is shining, the weather’s warming up on the east coast, and gays are getting married in Washington, D.C. - now that’s a beautiful day. In case you haven’t been following, today marks the first day same-sex couples could get married in the nation’s capital since the passage of the marriage equality bill a few months ago.
D.C. Superior Court began accepting applications for marriage licenses last Wednesday (March 3), but due to the processing period, couples were unable to get married until today.
We reported last week an African-American lesbian couple, Sinjoyla Townsend & Angelisa Young, were the first to register for their marriage license. Today, African-American gay couple Reginald Stanley and Rocky Galloway were among the first couples to get married.

Sinjoyla Townsend & Angelisa Young
Today is such an exciting day for proponents of same-sex marriage. Why? Today marks the first day same-sex couples could apply for a marriage license in the country’s capital. D.C. Superior Court began accepting applications bright and early as couples lined up outside the court from 6 a.m., hours before the court opened its doors. The first couple in line to file an application was Sinjoyla Townsend & Angelisa Young (pictured above), who’ve been together for 12 years.
All of this is made possible as a result of Read the rest of this entry »

Photos hit the internet, courtesy of Guest of a Guest, of designer Marc Jacobs with fiancé Lorenzo Martone at what appears to be a wedding party down in St. Barts, attended by Russell Simmons and girlfriend Porschla Coleman. Jacobs and Martone supposedly married in a private ceremony and then attended a exclusive private dinner hosted by Larry Gagosian. Although Jacobs is pictured in bridal white, standing with Martone in front of a wedding cake with a groom & groom topper, Jacobs reps are denying the couple got married. According to Jacobs’ rep, “someone had a party for them, but there was no wedding. They are still engaged.”
Hmmmmm. Awfully suspicious.
Do they want us to believe this was just a run-through rehearsal of the real wedding? We wonder if they’re just waiting to spring the news on the rumored reality show we told you about back in October. Remember? The all-gay version of “Real Housewives” expected to launch this year on MTV’s Logo. Well, we still don’t have anymore word on that deal.
But here’s some more photos of the couple down in St. Barts…. Read the rest of this entry »

Stories have been swirling around these past few days that things ain’t all gravy in Mary J. Blige’s marriage. Mary’s husband and manager Kendu Isaacs is rumored to be getting it in with an artist from the couple’s record label Matriarch. The alleged homewrecker is new artist Laneah.
Just last week video got out of Mary and Kendu in the club arguing, with Mary allegedly slapping Kendu (even though it didn’t appear that way to us), then eventually having to be be broken up by friends. Mary has since released a statement that she was not fighting with Kendu but instead trying to stop a fight between Kendu and her brother.
Why was your brother trying to fight your husband Mary? Hmmmmmm
Lawd knows we miss the Mary J. Blige off her 1999 Mary album, but we also don’t want MJB going through no unnecessary drama. She’s come a long way. And for the alleged skank in this situation, listen honey, your career is going to go nowhere if you think husband snatching is going to get you somewhere. PLUS, MJB got some serious fans out there that got her back. So TRUST when momma says don’t even try it.
