Monday night (March 15) was the premiere of VH1’s new reality show TRANSform Me, and O-M-G I loved it! I have to admit, I was a bit thrown by the realization the women who are to be made over aren’t told ahead of time their makeover team is made up of transgendered women, so the cameras catch the participants initial reaction to the fact. I didn’t know if to take that as VH1 trying to exploit the makeover team or what. I mean, the first makeover was on a woman in Mobile, Alabama. No shade Alabama, but you are the deep south. Anywho, my concern subsided once I saw how the show taught the women style, to find inner love and promoted tolerance. Plus, Laverne Cox was a great host. All the ladies did a great job.
Overall, I give the first episode two thumbs up.

Many A-Listers shy away from hard-hitting issues relating to the LGBT community, let alone the transgender sector. Ms. Jackson truly exemplifies leadership and strength. It was not too long ago that her Read the rest of this entry »
