Perez Hilton continues to suffer from an epidemic that plagues so many in the public eye.  It’s called foot-in-the-mouth disease and someone really needs to find the cure.  Perez Hilton, who covers the August issue of Advocate magazine, sat down for an interview wherein he addresses the Will.I.Am incident.  You remember the incident, right?  The one in which he called Will.I.Am a f*ggot.  Well, in his interview with the Advocate, he reveals for a second he first thought to call Will.I.Am the “N” word.  *screeech*  Oh really???? He goes on to say he decided against the ‘N” word because he thought f*ggot would be an even worse reference to use against the Black Eyed Peas frontman.  Oh, so he didn’t call Will.I.Am a n*gger because he knew it was wrong, he didn’t call Will.I.Am a n*gger because he thought something else would be even worse.  Someone needs to get Perez Hilton a real PR team and a muzzle with the quickness.

    Hello BGGers,

This post was inspired by a brunch conversation I enjoyed with some friends who are “in the industry.” Our conversation got me to thinking and led me to write the following list of Top 7 Ways to Convince People You Are Not “In the Closet.”

Now, let’s get it straight (no pun intended), I’m not suggesting people should leave the closet before they are ready, if ever at all. While staying in the closet may eventually become suffocating, it is a personal choice.

This list is for those closeted individuals who harm both the homosexual and Black community at large by perpetuating homophobia. Whether rooted in self-loath or fear, there are many who vehemently deny they are homosexual, as if it is some negative, nasty stain ridiculously thrown upon them. Help us help you.

If you would like to remain in the closet and end the accusations once and for all, try some or all of the following suggestions:

    1. Stop engaging in homosexual acts.

Unfortunately, or rather, fortunately, sex involves the participation of more than just you. So now, someone other than you knows you are either homosexual, or were just having a homosexual kind of day.

    2. Stop addressing homosexual rumors every chance you get.

Analogy: A man acquitted of a crime chooses to go on every media outlet to say he didn’t do it and later writes a book saying how he would have committed the crime if he did do it. Down the road, the man ends up in jail. Do you see how confusing and insane that sounds? In the end, you just look guilty.

    3. Stop using homosexual slurs, especially with vigor.

Example: If when you say “faggot” or “homo” or even “gay,” it sounds like you dug deep down into your bowels to muster up the deepest contempt possible, as if a homosexual person wiped out your entire family, to get those words to eject from your mouth, you may be “doing too much.” You sound closeted.
