Rihanna sat down with Diane Sawyer for an interview that aired on Good Morning America (GMA) this morning (November 5). Rihanna reveals she was ashamed after the incident. Her shame and embarassment came from the fact she feel so deeply in love with someone who did what they did to her and she went back. When Sawyer commented that on average it takes a woman 7 times before they leave, Rihanna interjected, “8 or 9 actually,” talking her about herself.
Rihanna fought back tears as she spoke about the impact her assault at the hands of Chris Brown had on so many other young girls and her feeling of responsibility to those women. She called it her wake up call.
Part 2 of the GMA interview will air tomorrow (November 6).

Chris Brown don’t want it with Oprah.
In a new interview with People mag, Chris Brown had this to say about Oprah’s decision to do a show on domestic violence, which she “dedicated to all Rihannas of the world.” “I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’”stated Brown, “but it was a slap in my face. I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.’”
No he DIDN’T try to step to Mama Oprah like that!
When Oprah was contacted for her reaction to Brown’s comment, her rep released the following statement: Read the rest of this entry »

Today is sentencing day for singer Chris Brown as he returns to a California court room to be sentenced for his assault on Rihanna back in February 2009. This past June, Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault. Today, he will be formally sentenced to 5 years probation and ordered to complete 180 days, or more than 1,400 hours of community labor and 52 weeks of domestic violence counseling. Rihanna will not be present in court today, however, her lawyer Donald Etra will be present on her behalf.
Ironicially enough, Etra intends on asking the court to abandon the order of protection against Brown that requires him not to come within 50 yards of Rihanna and instead, intends to ask the court to invoke an order with no distance requirement which would merely require Brown not to annoy, harass or molest Rihanna. According to Etra, Read the rest of this entry »
