Wanda Sykes dropped by friend and fellow comedian Jay Leno’s Tonight Show last night. The recently Emmy-nominated comedian talked about the upcoming Emmy awards, Mel Gibson’s rants and motherhood.
Sykes also poked fun at the cancellation of her two shows: CBS’s The New Adventures of Old Christine and her Fox talk show “The Wanda Sykes Show.” She even took jabs at her former network over the cancellation. “I wasn’t shocked,” Sykes said. “I mean it’s Fox, come on, they’re jackasses.”

Creator Brandon Broussard is back with Season 3 of Purple Stuff TV. This time, launching on Russell Simmons’ Global Grind network. Purple Stuff TV has followed in the steps of In Living Color with it’s sketch comedy format and undeniable humor. The elements of the raw and unexpected, however, runs in the same vein of a Dave Chapelle-type show.

June 11th, 2010Celebrities, Comedy, Entertainment, Tyler Perry
As if handsome NFL player turned actor Isaiah Mustafa wasn’t funny enough in the Old Spice commercial series “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like,” the “On A Horse” commercial continues to pull in fans and parodies alike. The Super Bowl commercial hit has been parodied time and time over since its debut. But the funniest one we’ve come across yet, has to be this one – “Old Spice – The Boy Your Man Could Smell Like.”
I’m sure Mustafa doesn’t mind. The Old Spice commercial has garnered him so much attention, acting opportunities continue to come out of the woodwork. He’s signed on to star in Tyler Perry’s upcoming film, “For Colored Girls,” which Perry announced live to Mustafa on Oprah, he recently shot another Old Spice commercial set to air in the upcoming months, and according to Variety, he’s signed a talent deal with NBC.
Damn! Who knew taking a gig for male fragrance that seems to have been around since forever could open up so many doors.

April 26th, 2010Celebrities, Entertainment, Television, Videos
Actress Gabourey Sidibe hosted SNL this past Saturday (April 24) and opened the show with a musical number letting all those know she is not the downtrodden character she portrayed in the Lee Daniel’s film Precious. Like she said people, it’s only a movie. And really, if anyone has seen her outside the film in any one of the many interviews she’s done, they would notice her naturally bubbly, warm spirit makes that clear. However, that hasn’t been the case.
Receiving criticism from the likes of Howard Stern for her weight and potential in Hollywood, Gabby’s performance on SNL coupled with her critically claimed acting in Precious makes it apparent the young actress can handle a range of roles. Let’s just hope she’s not typecast based on her outward appearance. *Fingers and toes crossed*
