Edward Enninful
A $300 billion dollar industry- the fashion industry. While full of glitz, glamor, and EXTRAVAGANZA ELEGANZA, there is much hard work and perseverance that takes place behind the fabulousness of it all. With that said, the ambassadors of the industry tend to be of the Caucasian persuasion such as Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, Diane von Fürstenberg, etc, etc. With the exception of Andre Leon Talley, such recognition to the majority leaves little adoration for the many African-Americans who are major figures in the fashion industry. From designers to stylists to photographers, editors, models, and creative directors, African-Americans have made stellar contributions to the fashion industry and continue to do so. So without further ado, BGG presents our new series: Black Fashion Maven.
