Last year was a dramaful one for MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” judges. First you had Lil Mama’s inappropriate comments to Leiomy of Vogue Evolution crew. Then, there was Shane Sparks arrest and indictment on child molestation charges later in the year.
Well, it seems as though show producers seek to inject new blood into the show by bringing R&B singer Omarion on board as a judge to take over Shane’s seat.
In choosing a replacement for Sparks, one show creator admitted “we were looking for a judge who could understand what the crews go through when they get on stage and perform.”

America’s Best Dance Crew judge and So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Shane Sparks was arrested by LAPD on Friday morning (December 18) for rape and charged with 8 counts of child molestation, broken down as follows: 4 counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 14 years of age, 2 counts of sexual intercourse with a 14 or 15 year old and 2 counts of oral copulation with a 14 or 15 year old. All charges are based on the same victim for acts that occurred between 1994-1997. The victim was a dance student at Millennium Studios in North Hollywood, where Sparks was a dance instructor. Vogue Evolution appeared on the season finale of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew after being eliminated in week five of the competition. The group was selected by show’s judge Lil Mama to perform with Artistry in Motion and We Are Heroes to “Girls On the Dance Floor” by East Movement.
After the finale, Vogue Evolution caught up with Pacific Rim Video and shared their favorite moments from the show. In an exclusive, the beautiful Leiomy revealed the group is working on a couple of things, including a talk show as well as her plans to explore her passion of modeling. She will walk her first fashion in California next month (October).

America’s Best Dance Crew judge Lil Mama issued an apology to Vogue Evolution group member Leiomy and the LGBT community in a statement released by GLAAD for her comments made on Sunday’s (August 30) show.

Last night’s episode of America’s Best Dance Crew included a major pause moment after Lil Mama’s critique of Vogue Evolution and specifically transgender group member Leiomy.
Prior to the group’s performance, it was revealed Vogue Evolution had a hard week with Leiomy repeatedly missing dance practice and then walking out before dress rehearsal. After the performance, Lil Mama kicked off the critiques calling the performance good not excellent. If you caught the season opener of America’s Best Dance Crew last night (August 9) on MTV, then you got a taste of Vogue Evolution, the gay/transgender dance crew competing for this season’s title of America’s Best Dance Crew. Vogue Evolution is an award-winning dance crew hailing from New York City’s underground ballroom scene. The crew, made up of Dashaun Williams, Devon Webster, Malechi Williams, Jorel Rios and Lelomy Maldonado - four gay bois and one transgender female - gave a crowd roaring performance fusing vogue elements with hip hop dance.
