Member of the now defunct B2K, J-Boog, real name Jarell Damonte Houston, was arrested at his Los Angeles home yesterday (January 4) for domestic violence. According to officers involved, J-Boog was arrested late in afternoon for “corporal punishment of a spouse” as well as some outstanding warrants allegedly related to his bad driving record.

North Miami former teacher, Gregory Higgs (pictured above) is charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his ex-boyfriend, high school teacher Charles Brown. Higgs, 53, was in a seven-year relationship with Brown, 54, before Brown broke it off for unknown reasons earlier this year. After the breakup, Higgs had resorted to sending Brown’s family nasty emails demanding answers over the breakup. He even sent threatening emails to Brown’s work and letters to the Miami-Dade County School Board.
In the afternoon on December 3rd, neighbors witnessed a later-identified Higgs waiting in Brown’s apartment hallway and called the police. Neighbors again called the police when they witnessed Higgs stabbing Brown to death. Neighbors even Read the rest of this entry »

Jason Mattison Jr. (L), Dante Parrish (R)
Baltimore high school student Jason Mattison Jr., age 15, was killed at the hands of a family friend, Dante Parrish, age 35. Jason was found raped, gagged with a pillowcase, stabbed repeatedly in the head and throat and stuffed into an upstairs closet at his aunt’s house, where Parrish may have been staying.
Jason, a self-confident gay teenager, was described as very popular, outgoing and friendly. All who knew him loved him. A sophomore at Vivian T. Thomas Medical Arts Academy in West Baltimore, his teachers and classmates are left heartbroken over his murder.
“He was a terrific boy, and we miss him very much, ” said Laquanna Couplin, Jason’s cousin and a resident at the house where Jason’s body was found. “We’re hoping Read the rest of this entry »

A Clayton County, Georgia high school teacher was arrested and released on bail for allegedly trying to put a “hit” out on a student he believed to be gay. Randolph Forde, a teacher at Mundy’s Mill High School, allegedly took a 16 year-old student of his out of class and questioned him about his sexual orientation. The next day, the two got into an argument during class and Forde “threatened to hit him in his f–king mouth.” WTH?

Nas responded to the brutal killing of a 16 year-old honor student, Derrion Albert, of Fenger High School on Chicago’s south side, with an open letter to the “young warriors” of the world. The student was caught as an innocent bystander in a street fight between rival neighborhood groups. Albert’s fatal beating was caught on video by a fellow student’s camera phone.
The video has been released nationally in hopes to capture all those responsible for this senseless killing.

On Wednesday August 26th, transgender woman Joshua Mack, a.k.a NaNa-Boo, and another transgender woman were attacked in the 200 block of Q street. Both women were stabbed. Unfortunately, Mack’s injuries were fatal. The Metropolitan Police Department has now issued a reward of up to $25,000 for “anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.”
The Metropolitan Police Department has not released any details on the possible suspect.
Transgender Health Empowerment has organized a vigil to be held this evening (August 28th) at 6:30p.m. at the site of the incident, 209 Q Street NW.

Petty Officer Jonathan Campos, a gas system technician, was charged with the murder of openly gay Navy Seaman August Provost. Provost was shot and killed at Camp Pendelton in California back on June 30 while on duty. His guard shack was burned in an effort to cover up the commission of the crime. Two Chicago men, Leroy Tinch, 28 (pictured above left) and Anthony Johnson, 23, (pictured above right) were charged Wednesday (July 22) morning with felony aggravated battery for beating a judge at a gay beauty pageant in the early morning hours of July 6. The pageant took place at the 5th City Center on Chicago’s west side. Johnson allegedly struck judge Sebastian Latta with a trophy shattering his jaw in three places. Tinch, who it’s not clear whether he was another judge or contestant, jumped in allegedly slashing Latta across the forehead with an unidentified sharp instrument, cutting Latta over his left eye.
