Trey Songz recently premiered his 1^st single off his new upcoming album, Passion, Pain, & Pleasure.  The song, titled “Bottoms Up,” features the “cameo queen” Nicki Minaj. Both Trey and Nicki have taken over radio whether we like it or not.  Trey is still riding the success of his breakthrough album Ready, while Nicki’s resting comfortably in the #1 spot on Billboard’s Rap chart.   Neither shows any signs of slowing down. In a recent interview with MTV News, Young Money’s first lady, Nicki Minaj, discussed her latest single “Your Love” and the irony of how she never wanted the highly successful track ever released in the first place. “The song was actually stolen and leaked,” Nicki revealed. “I was not planning on putting that song out.”

As we all know, The 2010 BET Awards took place last night (June 27) and BGG has got you covered on all the aspects of the ceremony from the winners to the performances, but now it’s time to talk about the FASHION. My, my, my, what is there to say? Some celebs sizzled immensely while others fizzled horribly.  Of course the usual suspects were there, from a glowing Ciara to an Avatar looking Jada Pinkett-Smith. Much of the fashion and style or lack thereof was beyond boring, thus not deemed post-worthy IMO. Nonetheless, there are certain looks that must be discussed. Case in  point the Best Dressed, Worst Dressed and the Somewhere In Between looks from the BET Awards.

While some starlets should immediately send their stylist  a bouquet of flowers, others should run to a new stylist and never look back.

Tonight, live from Los Angeles, The BET Awards will celebrate its ten year anniversary.  The highly anticipated award show has become the “black” Grammys for our African American artists and entertainers. I’m excited to see some of the artists’ fashion and stage performances. The BET Awards always does a phenomenal job selecting nominees, winners, and performances.

Tonight expect performances from the  Alicia Keys, Diddy’s Dirty Money, Drake, Trey Songz, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, T.I (The King is back!), Kanye West (what will he do next?), Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Eminem, and T-Pain along with a host of other talents to hit the stage. Rapper Nicki Minaj recently did an interview with New York Magazine, which dissected the Barb and her rising career – from her look to the trash talk to why hip hop needs her.

Described to possess the “decadent swagger” of Foxy Brown and “madcap style” of Missy Elliott, the rapper was certainly ranked high amongst female rap-royalty. Yeah, she may not have put out an album yet, but as pointed out, she’s done over 30 guest appearances on other artists tracks and videos. That’s got to count for something, right?

Obviously so to gain the stamp of approval from rap veteran Missy Elliott who sees herself in Nicki Minaj, as she told the mag, and even gave her endorsement of the rap newcomer.

With Lil Kim and Missy Elliott being such good friends, I wonder how Kim will take this? Hmmm
