Tyler Perry has began production on his new film, “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf” in New York City. Just weeks prior, Mariah Carey dropped out of the film on her doctor’s advisement.

Janet Jackson has her sights set on a new acting role. And no, it’s not another Tyler Perry movie. The singer-actress revealed to Jet her interest in playing singer Eartha Kitt in a movie biopic.

“I adore her and I had the opportunity to spend time with her,” said Janet. “She had expressed wanting me to portray her and was excited about the idea of me portraying her in a film.”

In case you missed it, Janet Jackson appeared on Oprah’s live show on Friday to promote her new film “Why Did I Get Married Too?” and opened up like never before on her brother Michael’s passing, the many failed interventions, who she blames for Michael’s death and her last words to her him.

“It’s hard to believe still till this day,” said Janet. “There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about him, that all of us in the family don’t think about him.”

Janet even admitted,”we [the family] knew that he had a problem. We all did. And I think a lot of people think that we were in denial, which we weren’t at all. We tried interventions several times.” However, those interventions failed due to Michael’s belief he didn’t have a problem. “He was very much in denial,” Janet revealed.
