Fonzworth Bentley has resurfaced with a message to African-Americans and hip-hop with his new track “Fireside Chat.” “It’s kinda heavy for some heads,” said Bentley. “Some kids, it’s gonna be heavy for them. They don’t wanna be reminded they have a responsibility.”
The track essentially calls out the current state of hip-hop, demanding more substance and challenges the hip-hop and African-American community to take more responsibility.

We here at BGG just can’t get enough of Mr. Bentley. Really, we can’t.
We told you all about Fonzworth Bentley’s stand against homophobia during an episode earlier in the season of his reality show, From G’s to Gents. [See, Fonzworth Bentley Takes A Stand Against Homophobia]. And during the reunion special that aired last night on MTV, he did us proud once again.
The reunion show revisited an incident that occurred earlier in the season when one contestant, Macho, was perceived to be gay and coming on to another contestant, A-Felon.
Fonzworth expressed to the group his belief that “gay” is used whenever someone wants to damage a guy’s cred and then posed the question to the group: “Why do you think that street life is so homophobic?”
I almost fainted!Fahim, the most brolic of the former contestants responded, “Where I come from you’re not comfortable with it….it’s not out there…that word [homophobia] should be crossed out.”
Hmmmm, food for thought: Is the Black LGBT’s lack of visibility perpetuating homophobia?
Fonzworth closed out the discussion by saying: Read the rest of this entry »

April 15th, 2009Celebrities, Entertainment, Fashion, Fonzworth Bentley, Music
Fonzworth Bentley appeared yesterday on shock jock diva Wendy Williams’ radio show, The Experience. Rocking his new-found McClendon haircut, Fonzworth was there to promote the finale of the second season of his MTV reality show, From G’s to Gents.
In true Wendy fashion, the interview went off course from promotion of Fonzworth’s show to what listeners really wanted to know - the T of course.
Fonzworth announced to Wendy and her listeners that he is still with actress girlfriend Faune A. Chambers. Fonzworth further revealed he gave Faune a promise ring this past Valentine’s day (’09). Promise of what? Well marriage, what else?!
Now you know it wouldn’t be a Wendy show without the infamous how you doin’ question.
As expected, Fonzworth denied Wendy’s insinuations of him being gay and any affiliation with the Swagger Club. For those who don’t know, the Swagger Club is a club for gay men who are on the down low.
Wendy wasn’t too convinced, but then again, is she ever. Hahaha.

March 3rd, 2009Celebrities, Culture, Entertainment, Fonzworth Bentley, From G's to Gents, Television
Oh, what is that puddle you ask? No, it’s not the ice melting in the Northeast. Those are the tears cried by Macho on tonight’s episode of MTV’s “From G’s to Gents.”
And I’m not talking a little bit of tears, but sobbing, stuttering, snotty tears.
So pathetic!
In this episode, the Gent-wannabee’s were taught lessons in chivalry and were put to the test on a date with video vixen Esther Baxter. The men were broken up into teams of three wherein, each team sent out a guy to go on the date and put those new-found chivalrous skills to the test.
Of course, Macho’s team was on the losing side of the challenge. Big surprise, I know. Get this! Macho had the nerve to bust in on the date of their team lead, Fahim. Who does that?! He walks in and proceeds to tell Esther that Fahim was not her real date, it was just a joke. WHAT!!
And what did his less than Macho actions get him? Many black balls and one elimination. LOL. And what was Macho’s reaction? Uncontrollable, sobbing, should-be-curled-up-in-the-fetal-position tears.
*eye rolling*
I’m just excited to say farewell to Macho’s punk ass. He whined, cried and gossiped about all the other contestants on the show since the start. His manipulative tactics were more annoying than effective.
Good riddance, Macho.
I was so tired of looking at those ridiculous tattoos on his face anyway- a three-dimensional diamond on his cheek and red kiss lips on his neck - I mean, seriously.
I have to admit, I’ll miss his colorful commentary. smh.
In the words of Fonzworth Bentley, “you go boy.”

It’s Tuesday nights at 10pm, so you know what that means…Fonzworth Bentley’s “From G’s to Gents” on MTV. It’s a show where Mr. Bentley takes a group of “gangstas” and attempts to transform them into gentlemen.
On tonight’s episode, the challenge was a rap off, excuse me, I mean a rhetoric duel. Well, while A-Felon was on stage rapping, gangsta contestant Macho was in the crowd sticking his tongue out at A-Felon. Real gansta, I know. What’s even more bizarre is A-Felon’s reaction. He took it as a homo-erotic Read the rest of this entry »
