July 14th, 2010Beyonce, Celebrities, Ciara, Diddy, Entertainment, Fantasia, Mariah Carey, Monica, Music, Nicki Minaj, Soul Wants To Know, Tyra Banks, Whitney Houston
Hey BGG readers! Back with another edition of Soul Wants To Know. Now this week it was time to switch it up a bit and not do my usual thing. So with this edition, I’d really appreciate your feedback. I don’t know about you all, but I love either-or debates (e.g., Lil’ Kim vs Foxy Brown). So this week let’s see who rises to the top and who’s better between the two subjects.
Let the debates begin… Read the rest of this entry »

One-third member of Diddy’s Dirty Money Crew, singer Dawn Richard shot a cover and spread for the upcoming July issue of GHUBAR PARIS Magazine, shot by famed photographer Sara McClogan.
“Dawn’s personal style is impeccable, said set stylist Ugo Mozie. “She is a role model for women everywhere. She embraces herself, and is comfortable in her own skin, not to mention the heart of lion.”

June 28th, 2010Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Celebrities, Culture, Diddy, Entertainment, Janelle Monae, John Legend, Kanye West, Music, Queen Latifah, Taraji P. Henson, Videos
Last night, the place to be was at the 2010 BET Awards, whether you were there live or at home watching. None other than Kanye West opened the award show with a mediocre performance of his latest hit single, “Power.” The multi-talented host, Queen Latifah then followed with a playful and comedic medley. The “Queen” also spit for those who forgot how it all began.
During the 106 & Park: Live From The Red Carpet pre-show Keri Hilson hinted, “I heard it’s a night of comebacks.” and indeed it was. In tribute to the legendary honoree Prince, the also legendary Patti Labelle bellowed out a powerful rendition of Prince’s classic hit “Purple Rain.” It was also a pleasant surprise to see 80’s superstar R&B singer, El DeBarge still looking good and sounding great. The lineup also featured a few surprise duets, namely: Alicia Keys & Kim Burrell, B.O.B. & Keyshia Cole, Monica & Deniece Williams (“Silly Of Me”). But the best performance goes to Chris Brown for his exhilarating tribute to the late, Michael Jackson. Chris Brown poured his heart out while dancing (looking like MJ) and literally singing to tears. It was a performance to remember. “He [Chris Brown] left his heart on the stage, he gave genuine emotion,” said Trey Songz when asked to describe Chris Brown’s performance during a BET post-show interview with BET correspondent Big Tigger.
Now let’s get to the winners, the performances, and of course, the commentary… Read the rest of this entry »

Tonight, live from Los Angeles, The BET Awards will celebrate its ten year anniversary. The highly anticipated award show has become the “black” Grammys for our African American artists and entertainers. I’m excited to see some of the artists’ fashion and stage performances. The BET Awards always does a phenomenal job selecting nominees, winners, and performances.
Tonight expect performances from the Alicia Keys, Diddy’s Dirty Money, Drake, Trey Songz, Usher, Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, T.I (The King is back!), Kanye West (what will he do next?), Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Eminem, and T-Pain along with a host of other talents to hit the stage. The legendary performer and musician Prince will Read the rest of this entry »

“Queen Bee” Lil Kim performed at the Filmore last night (June 3) in New York City. Joined on stage by her hype man/homie Ray J, the two made remarks aimed at newcomer to the game, Nicki Minaj, for “biting” Kim’s style.
“It’s a lot of people biting her style and sh*t” Ray J started off. Read the rest of this entry »

May 7th, 2010Celebrities, Diddy, Oprah, Usher
So all the fun didn’t end at the Met Ball. It continued to the after party at the Mark Hotel. Who would’ve thought The Big ‘O’ would have been jammin’ with Pharell, Diddy, Usher, and others. From the pic it looks as if the guest had a great time. Of course I love any great event in the name of Fashion, so this is definitely a moment. Oprah of course served as one of the co-chairs to this year’s Met Ball, which was all about the American Woman. If Oprah Winfrey does not define the American Women, then no women does. April 28th, 2010Celebrities, Diddy, Entertainment, Music, Nicki Minaj
It’s no secret Young Money rapstress Nicki Minaj, real name Onika Tanya Maraj, has been the topic of several polarizing conversations – from whether her body parts are fake to her Barbie image to whether she swagger jacked rap veteran Lil Kim. Well, Licki Nicki discussed that and more in a recent interview with the Post.
When asked whether it bothers her that many believe she rocks butt pads, Nicki responded, Read the rest of this entry »
