Queen Latifah and Common are just a few weeks away from the debut of their film “Just Wright,” directed by Sanaa Hamri. The romantic-comedy follows Leslie Wright (Queen Latifah), a physical therapist who falls for her NBA player-patient, Scott McKnight (Common), who’s clueless to her interest but is instead taken in by Queen’s best friend, Morgan Alexander (Paula Patton), an aspiring NBA trophy wife.

Just Wright also stars Mehcad Brooks, Phylicia Rashad, and Pam Grier.

The film hits theaters May 14th.

Kanye West appeared over the weekend at Common’s benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium and according to sources backstage, threw a temper tantrum over not getting a plate of chicken. No really, we couldn’t dream this up if we tried.

He supposedly became angered when he saw a man eating chicken, and yelled, “Why wasn’t I offered chicken? You want me to perform for free, [and] everyone is eating… why am I not eating?”

Actor Mehcad Brooks recently sat down with Honey Mag for an interview. And while he may be seen as a hunky piece of man candy to the rest of the world, Mehcad reveals he is so much more. He discussed everything from his role in “Just Wright,” starring Queen Latifah and Common to why he doesn’t consider himself a sex symbol but instead a nerd and film dork to getting over being a serial monogamist to why he’s not concerned with marrying until same-sex marriage is legal.

All in all, the interview made him just even more loveable.

Queen Latifah along with cast, crew, family and friends celebrated the wrap of her new film “Just Wright” Tuesday night (August 25) at Greenhouse in NYC. Those in attendance included, Robin Thicke, Paula Patton, Andre Harrell, Serena Williams, Common, Derrick Dudley and Noah G. Pop, just to name a few.

“Just Wright” is scheduled to release in 2010.
