Kanye West appeared over the weekend at Common’s benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium and according to sources backstage, threw a temper tantrum over not getting a plate of chicken. No really, we couldn’t dream this up if we tried.

He supposedly became angered when he saw a man eating chicken, and yelled, “Why wasn’t I offered chicken? You want me to perform for free, [and] everyone is eating… why am I not eating?”

Actor Mehcad Brooks recently sat down with Honey Mag for an interview. And while he may be seen as a hunky piece of man candy to the rest of the world, Mehcad reveals he is so much more. He discussed everything from his role in “Just Wright,” starring Queen Latifah and Common to why he doesn’t consider himself a sex symbol but instead a nerd and film dork to getting over being a serial monogamist to why he’s not concerned with marrying until same-sex marriage is legal.

All in all, the interview made him just even more loveable.

Queen Latifah along with cast, crew, family and friends celebrated the wrap of her new film “Just Wright” Tuesday night (August 25) at Greenhouse in NYC. Those in attendance included, Robin Thicke, Paula Patton, Andre Harrell, Serena Williams, Common, Derrick Dudley and Noah G. Pop, just to name a few.

“Just Wright” is scheduled to release in 2010.

Queen Latifah and Common were spotted in New York on the set of their new film Just Wright. It’s a romantic comedy starring Queen, a physical therapist who finds herself falling for a professional basketball player while rehabilitating him from a career-threatening injury. Back in March, we told you the film’s producers had not yet found anyone to play opposite Queen as her love interest. Well, it seems they found Common to step into the role. This will be the first time seeing Common on the big screen as the leading man. Can’t wait to see what kind of chemistry they have on camera.  Purrrr.    The film also stars Precious star, Paula Patton.

Just Wright is set for a 2010 release.

Rapper Common is being sued by songwriters Andrew Marks and London McDaniels for use of their song “When Will The Day Come” as a sample in his 2007 track “Take it EZ.” What makes this case interesting is that although Marks and McDaniels weren’t paid for use of their song, the two received credit on Common’s downladable version of his song. Marks and McDaniels are suing for unspecified damages.
