Fantasia Admits She Tried To Commit Suicide

R&B singer Fantasia recently broke her silence and told interviewers that she in fact “did” try to kill herself. In the interview she explains the events leading up to her meltdown and how she had given up.

“I didn’t have any fight in me. I didn’t care about anything. I just wanted out. At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive].

I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can’t accidentally take a whole bottle of pills.”

“I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly, over and over again, dealing with my family – my father, dealing with men and their [expletive] – I was tired. My head was hurting me. I was over it.

When I met him, he was separated … wasn’t living in his home. He didn’t want to be back with his wife – that is what I was told. I remember waking up in the hospital [and thinking], ‘It didn’t work, I’m still here in this hellhole. Still here with all this drama going on.’

My nurse Melanie was a blessing into my life because she didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear. She told me what I needed to hear. And she looked at me and said, ‘You gotta get up, and you’ve gotta get out of here, ’cause you haven’t fulfilled your destiny.’

I realized how people end up in the grave. Because that one moment [snaps her fingers] of just breaking or feeling like I can’t, I can’t go on, it’s too heavy. That was somewhere I don’t ever want to go again.”

Fantasia’s manager Brian Dickens was the one who found Fantasia and commented on the terrifying turn of events.

“Her emotions were extremely low. She’d been crying all day. Fantasia was just numb. Fantasia texted me, saying ‘I love you.’ I wrote back, ‘I love you more.’ Then it hit me.

I wrote, ‘You better not do anything or think about doing anything stupid.’ And I left it at that. About 10 minutes later, Fantasia texted me back, and she said, ‘Already did.’ I went into Fantasia’s room and saw her on the floor, and my heart just dropped.”

I’m relieved to hear that Fantasia has support and that she has weathered the storm. Hopefully she’ll find other ways to deal with the constant pressures of the media and her still ongoing relationship with Mr. Antwaun Cook.

Give me a break ‘taisa, try and kill yourself over a trick when you have a child to live for and a great career? This “I need a man to live” nonsense from some women is too much, I hope her all those family memebers on her payroll help her get some mental help as she really needs some self esteem far more than she needs a man/trick.

i might be a little late but hey am one of the biggest fantasia barrino fans til death do us part!was not at all happy i mean losin a legend with such talent not right.so she should know that in life you sometimes do not need to move too fast because you might not only forget where you are heading but also where your from and gal you should only be living for your daughter i mean she is worth you living and seeing her grow to be as beautiful as her mother otherwise i wish you the best of luck in lfe…fan till the end… jaynita,uganda

Wake up people 5 in 100000 blacks commit suicide that is the highest rate out of any race or class of people. People get to distressed and stuggle in life. Just because your famous and got money doesn’t make you immune.
