Loretta Devine, Bow Wow & Isaiah Mustafa To Star In Tyler Perry’s Film “Madea’s Big Happy Family”

This past April, Lionsgate announced the acquisition of film rights to Tyler Perry’s current stage play, “Madea’s Big Happy Family.” Well reports as to who will star in the film have hit the net. Retired rapper Bow Wow, veteran actress Loretta Devine and “Old Spice Guy” Isaiah Mustafa are all said to star in the upcoming flick.

Perry will reprise his role as Madea who helps a terminally ill single mother named Shirley, played by Devine, throw one last family reunion in an attempt to unite her often squabbling family members, including her sons, played by Bow Wow and Mustafa, who are unaware of her terminal cancer diagnosis, despite several attempts by Shirley to inform them.

This will be Perry’s 11th film with Lionsgate and is set for theatrical release April 22, 2011. Perry’s 10th film with the studio house, “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf” began production this summer and is set for nationwide theatrical release, January 14, 2011.

Loretta Devine? Ugh, this woman is just too lame for the big screen. But, with Bow Wow in it, she’ll be second or third fiddle thank goodness!
