Finally, Marsha Ambrosius of the hit duo Floetry is scheduled to release her debut solo album Late Night, Early Morning October 26^thon J Records. Already leaked on the internet, the lead single “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)” officially hits the airwaves August 16^th and will be available on ITunes August 17^th.

Marsha a.k.a “The Songstress” is a six-time grammy award nominee and has penned hot songs for many successful artists (Michael Jackson “Butterflies”, Justin Timberlake “Cry Me A River”, Kelis “Circus”), just to name a few. Marsha is known for her vocal acrobatics and her melodic wordplay. On “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)”, which is also written by Ms. Marsha Ambrosius, she speaks for many scorned lovers everywhere. In a recent interview Marsha describes the song as “the reality of a bad break up. We wanna be decent human beings and say the right thing, you know, ‘I wish you well.’ But this is ‘Everything that could go wrong for him I want it to because my ego is bruised and I’m acting out.”

Fans can catch Marsha on BET’s Centric Selects and online at CentricSelects.com. I don’t know about you, but I am excited to hear her first solo effort. On Late Night, Early Morning Marsha has collaborated with R&B newlywed Alicia Keys and producers Just Blaze, and Dre & Vidal (Floetry’s “Say Yes”). As for this lead single “Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)” is the perfect reintroduction of Marsha Ambrosius “The Songstress.”

I’m sorry but it seems like she’s watering her shit down now that she’s “mainstream”. the material she put out with Floetry had such greater substance than this. I’m disappointed.
