Wanda Sykes Surprises Lesbian Teen Constance McMillen On Talk Show

Talk show host Wanda Sykes took time out to highlight Constance McMillen, the lesbian teenager from Mississippi at the center of the latest prom debacle, on her talk show Saturday night (March 13). The teen was told she couldn’t attend her prom with her girlfriend nor wear a tuxedo. When she fought back, the school responded by canceling the prom altogether.

Wanda surprised McMillen, no not with a prom, but with the opportunity to present Sykes with the Stephen F. Kolzak award at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on April 17th. Sykes also extended the invitation McMillen’s girlfriend.
