An autopsy performed on Ashley “AJ” Jewell, ex-fiance of Real Houswives Kandi Burruss, has revealed sickle cell anemia, a disease which inhibits oxygen flow to tissues in the body, may have played a major role in his death. Earlier this month AJ was involved in a fight in the parking lot of Atlanta strip club “Body Tap,” and was believed to have died from head injuries sustained during the altercation.

However, according to Fulton County Associate Medical Examiner, Dr. Kelly Rose, AJ possibly being “worked up” from the fight combined with his sickle cell condition may have made it that he couldn’t replenish oxygen he lost during the fight, which resulted in fatal consequences.
