Drama queen/blogger Perez Hilton is at it again. After tweeting that he was assaulted by Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.Am, Hilton released a video in which he explains what really happened.

In his video statement, Hilton admits Will.I.Am confronted him about statements he’s made about the BEP on his website, but then reveals it was in fact Will.I.Am’s tour manager, Polo Molina, who clocked him in the eye from behind and punched him two or three times. Wait! Hold up!! Didn’t Hilton tweet it was Will.I.Am who bloodied his face? Losing credibility already. Hilton went on to admit he deliberately sought to get under Will.I.Am’s skin when he told him,  “you’re a fag, you’re gay, and stop been such a faggot.” HUH? Hilton actually justified his anti-gay slurs as a reaction to his belief Will.I.Am was trying to intimidate him.

GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, actually released a statement yesterday reprimanding Hilton’s actions and calling for him to apologize for his use of the slurs. The statement provided,

these are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.

Hilton’s handling of this whole incident further shows why he has gained the reputation as being a figure in the LGBT community that only hurts the overall perception of the community by the mainstream.
