Mariah Carey deviates from her normal sex-kitten image, temporarily, in her new video for her single, “Obsessed.” Carey taps into her masculine side as she dons a hoodie, oversized jeans and even facial hair. The change in attire is meant to copy and make fun of rapper Eminem, who earlier this year put out a diss track aimed at Carey.
The video is expected to premiere July 13.

Solange took the stage to perform tracks from her most recent album, “Solange & The Hadley Street Dreams” including, “Sandcastle Disco,” “I Decided,” and “T.O.N.Y.” She even took time after the event to poke fun at herself when she tweeted, “I’m just at home here. June 30th, 2009Celebrities, Culture, Entertainment, Pride 2009
This past weekend was the NYC Pride celebration and all I have to say is – I love my people!! Lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders – I love ‘em all – regardless of race. It was wonderful to see members of the community flood the streets of New York in celebration of pride, just being all prideful.
By the way, I spotted Marquis of MTV’s True Life: I’m Bisexual (Season 3, Episode 16) over on W4th early Sunday morning. He’s such a cutie. Free, former host of BET’s 106 & Park came on the mic Friday night as DJ Mary Mac spun the tracks. Great party!! Had me dancing on a chair. Also spotted a couple of video girls up in the parties, identities will remain nameless… for now. The parade was not rained out. And Kin4Life gave a great performance Sunday night at Alibi.
Overall, the parties, people and events were great.

Janet Jackson took the stage last night at the 2009 BET Awards to pay homage to her brother Michael, who passed away suddenly last Thursday. Janet’s emotional tribute to her brother brought the crowd to a halt. Janet, with tears in her eyes, said “my entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was just too painful, so they elected me to be here to speak with you. To you Michael was an icon. To us, Michael is family and he will forever live in all of our hearts. On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, and for all your support. We miss him so much.”
