NFL Player Larry Johnson Gets The Boot Following Gay Slur Controversy

November 10th, 2009Celebrities, Sports
You’ve heard the expression, “you made your bed, now lie in it.” Well, that’s exactly what former Kansas City Chiefs player Larry Johnson is doing, now he has no job to go to. The former team running back was released from his contract on Monday (November 9), the same day he was to return from suspension. Johnson was suspended following a controversy that included the use of gay slurs to the media and a fan on Twitter and fined $315,000. This was his second suspension within a 12 month period.
Johnson was so disliked by Chiefs fans that they started an online petition asking the Chiefs not to let Johnson become the team’s all-time leading rusher. Johnson was only 75 yards away from breaking Priest Holmes‘ team rushing record.
