D.C. Council Votes To Legalize Same-Sex Marriage
1

Same-sex marriage passed the second round of votes today in our national’s capital. The D.C. Council voted again 11-2 in favor of same-sex marriage. The Council handed down the same vote just two weeks ago during the first round of voting. The only thing left is for the bill to go before Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, who has pledged he will sign it into law.
Unfortunately, Fenty’s signature alone is not enough to combat this legislation falling prey to gay marriage opponents. After Fenty signs the bill, Congress has 30 legislative days to enact a joint resolution of disapproval. President Obama would then have to sign that resolution for the city law to be blocked. However, many supporters of same-sex marriage are optimistic the resolution will not be enacted by a Democratic-majority Congress.
So, if the bill is signed into law and no resolution is passed, same-sex marriage would be legal in Washington, D.C. by late January.

Does anyone know after all this is over, if/once the congress approves of it and so forth, is there anyway it can be repealed like that of California?
